Study Mode Full-Time

This course is an enabling general education course aimed at the development of personal, social and employability skills that are applicable across a wide range of industries. It is design to assist learners who have been marginalised or disadvantaged in some way to articulate into vocational pathways and to develop the skills and abilities to direct their own development.

This course aims to provide training focused on a wide range of educational and vocational outcomes.

If you’ve been out of school for a while or haven’t felt confident in a classroom, this course might be the perfect next step.
The GATE course is for people who want to build their confidence, gain life and job-ready skills, and take a fresh step toward future training or work.

This course could be right for you if:

  • You want to find a new way forward - even if you’re not sure what that looks like yet
  • You’ve struggled with school or learning before
  • You’re ready to grow your confidence and skills in a safe space
  • You want people to see you and support you.

You don’t need to have all the answers now. Just bring a willingness to have a go — and we’ll walk the rest of the way together.

What’s the time commitment?

The course includes:

  • Attending classes (on campus or online, depending on your location)
  • Some independent study time (like preparing for class or completing small tasks)

We’ll help you plan your time, so it works for you

In this course, you’ll get the chance to practice and grow skills that help you in real life and in the workplace.
Some of these include:

  • Communication – Speak up. Listen. Find your voice again.
  • Teamwork – Learn how to work with others, even when it’s hard.
  • Problem Solving – Life’s full of challenges. We’ll help you build the mindset to face them.
  • Initiative – Take small steps toward showing up for yourself.
  • Planning & Time Skills – Learn how to manage your day, your tasks, and your future.
  • Self-Reflection – Get to know yourself. What’s working? What needs changing?
  • Learning & Tech – We’ll take it slowly. Learn to use computers and tech in a way that makes sense to you.

These aren’t just “work skills” — they’re life skills. And you’ve already got some of them. We’ll help you grow the rest.
