This could be Beauty therapy, Hair dressing, Automotive, Electrical, Business - the pathways are endless. Certificate II retail Services will give you the skills to work in any business that has customers and sells a product or service, making you a very valuable team member.

Time Commitment â€“ You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, and research to successfully complete this course; and complete work placement. 

You will need to complete:

  • Mandatory supervised work placement, in a suitable retail business that sells products and services. South Regional TAFE will work with you to arrange suitable work placement within the industry you’re interested in if possible.
  • Attendance at the work placement regularly and reliably.
  • Travel to and from the suitable work environment to complete work placement.
  • All work placement hours are completed during the allocated course time on the course days.

  • Respectful Communication - Connect with people from different backgrounds, share ideas effectively and build trust and strong relationships.
  • Teamwork – Collaborate with other staff, show them respect, and be open to feedback.
  • Working Independently – Complete tasks independently when required.
  • Problem Solving - There is always a solution. How do you respond to a challenge? If you spot a problem, we encourage you to ask questions, clarify as needed, and respond appropriately within your training.
  • Initiative - Stay motivated, take proactive steps, and seek help when necessary.
  • Planning - Manage time well. Knowing how to prioritise and completing your tasks efficiently are crucial for your success.
  • Self-Management - Reflect on your performance. Reflection is a powerful tool for growth and success as a student at South Regional TAFE. Being a professional in the workplace can mean learning when to accept responsibility for your failures as often as your successes. This is how we learn!
  • Learning – Recognise what your strengths already are. Then embrace all the new knowledge and experience from your South Regional TAFE journey to grow as a student. As a frontline retail employee, you will often be the first contact support to assist clients.
