When you complete this course you will be ready for a career in conservation and ecosystem management. You will have the skills and knowledge required for specialised or skilled work in the conservation and ecosystem management industry.

The qualification provides for advanced skills in a broad range of conservation and ecological work in areas including supervision and management, indigenous land management, ecosystem management, pest control and fire management.

  • You have a passion for Conservation, Ecosystems and the Environment.
  • You want to restore and rehabilitate ecosystems with senior and supervisory roles.
  • You have completed a Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management or equivalent and want to further your skills.

  • Have well-established skills and knowledge of Conservation, Ecosystems and the Environment.
  • Enjoy practical / manual work with good fitness levels,
  • Enjoy nature and outdoors.
  • Demonstrate your ability to work independently, within a team and leading others.
  • Be able to cope with varied outdoor weather conditions (e.g., heat, rain, cold, wind).
  • Show ability to cope with nature (e.g., flies, insects, spiders).
  • Possess well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Have well-developed digital literacy.
  • Be able to accurately follow plans and instructions, and work to deadlines.
  • Show the ability to follow Work Health and Safety procedures and respond to immediate safety risks.
  • Show tolerance, patience and the willingness to work with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

This course provides advanced skills in a broad range of conservation and ecological work in areas including supervision and management, indigenous land management, ecosystem management, mine site rehabilitation, forestry and national parks, pest control and fire management.

Time Commitment â€“ You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.
