Certificate III in On Country Management is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required for effective management and conservation of natural and cultural resources on Aboriginal lands. This qualification integrates Aboriginal cultural protocols, and modern technology to ensure preservation of natural and cultural heritage on Aboriginal places ensuring the sustainable management of resources. This qualification empowers students to contribute to the sustainable management and protection of Aboriginal lands, cultural heritage, and natural resources while respecting and honouring cultural traditions and protocols.

  • You want to be involved in the Management and Conservation of Natural and Cultural Resources on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander lands.
  • You want to ensure respectful relationships and culturally sensitive decision making with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities when undertaking work on Country within various career paths – Agriculture, Aquaculture, Forestry, Conservation, Tourism, land use planning and/or Park Management.

  • Have sound English, maths and digital skills.

  • Demonstrate your ability to follow Work Health and Safety procedures and respond to immediate safety risks. 

This skill set provides you with the introductory skills and knowledge required for effective Management and Conservation of natural and cultural resources of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander lands. This course empowers you to contribute to the Sustainable Management and protection of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander lands, cultural heritage, and natural resources while respecting and honouring cultural traditions and protocols.

Time Commitment â€“ You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.
