When you complete this course you will be ready for a career as a Shearing Shed Hand or Wool Handler. You will have the skills and knowledge to handle wool and work in a shearing shed. You will learn skills penning sheep, performing board duties, pressing wool, and preparing sheep for shearing and crutching. You will also learn about first aid, effective communication, responding to emergencies, and safety in the workplace.
- You love the outdoors and want a practical hands-on career in the Agriculture Industry.
- You want to learn how to handle wool and assist in a shearing shed.
- You want to become a Roustabout and eventually a Shearer or Wool Classer.

You have completed Certificate II in Wool Handling and want to develop your skills further.
Please Note: Certificate II is not a requirement for Certificate III.

When you complete this course, you will be ready for a career in the wool industry. You will have the skills and knowledge to handle wool and assist in a shearing shed. You will learn skills in penning sheep, pressing wool, prepare facilities for shearing and crutching, and fleece for wool classing. You will also learn about quality assurance and safety in the workplace.
Time Commitment – You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.
