You will have the skills and knowledge of a range of practical skills, technical training, and communication skills for a career in Wool Classing.

 

  • You love the outdoors and want a practical hands-on career in the Agriculture Industry.
  • You want to learn how to handle wool and assist in a shearing shed.
  • You want to eventually become a Wool Classer.

To make an informed choice about the suitability of this course, please consider the essential skills and knowledge below. You must: 

  • Enjoy practical / manual work. 

  • Enjoy nature and the outdoors.

  • Like to work with animals.

  • Show good communication skills. 

  • Demonstrate good physical fitness and mobility.

  • Demonstrate your ability to follow instructions.

  • Be able to work independently, within a team and lead others.

  • Be able to cope with varied weather conditions outdoor (e.g., heat, rain, cold, wind). 

  • Demonstrate your ability to follow Work Health and Safety procedures and respond to immediate safety risks. 

When you complete this course, you will have the skills and knowledge for a career in Wool Classing.

Time Commitment  You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.
