This qualification applies to individuals working in a work health and safety (WHS) role who provide a broad range of technical knowledge and skills, and have some limited responsibility for the output of others. The qualification applies to those working as or looking to gain employment as supervisors, WHS personnel, and workers in other WHS-related roles who manage risks effectively, apply relevant WHS laws, and contribute to WHS within the workplace in known or changing contexts with established parameters.

  • Have a passion for safe work practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrate your ability to work independently, within a team and leading others.
  • Show ability to write documents legibly.
  • Possess well-developed oral communication.
  • Demonstrate well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to analyse information.
  • Have well-developed digital literacy with the ability to navigate Microsoft 365 suite and websites for research purposes.
  • Have a good understanding of mathematics (arithmetic).
  • Show good attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Display ability to read and interpret instructions/emails/surveys including specific information as provided.

Work, Health and Safety is an important part of any Australian workplace. Almost all industries require a Work Health and Safety professional in the team. This course will give you the skills and knowledge to work as a health and safety practitioner and become responsible for the corresponding Work Health and Safety functions within a workplace.
