This qualification reflects the multi-skilled role of individuals in operational and customer support positions in the sport or community recreation industry. These individuals are competent in a range of activities and functions requiring autonomous work within a defined range of situations and environments.

  • Have an interest in the Sport, Aquatics and Recreation Industry.
  • Enjoy working one-on-one as well as part of a team.
  • Have a good level of fitness and enjoy participating in sport.
  • Be confident, reliable and strong work ethics.
  • Have good time-management and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Possess well-developed communication, verbal, non-verbal and listening skills.
  • Apply problem-solving skills and the ability to respond to immediate safety risks.
  • Have sound organisational skills.
  • Possess the ability to follow instructions, Work Health and Safety procedures and the ability to respond to immediate safety risks.
  • Demonstrate tolerance, patience and the willingness to work in diverse communities. 

This course will give you the skills and knowledge required to work effectively in a sport, aquatic or recreation environment. You will have the ability to run group sessions and provide a quality service within fitness centres, sporting grounds or complexes, leisure, aquatic and community recreation centres. 

Time Commitment: You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research, complete assessment requirements and the traineeship work placement.
