Study Mode Apprenticeship

When you complete this course you will be ready for a career in the automotive industry. You will have skills and knowledge in light automotive servicing technologies, including engines, suspension and steering systems.  You will learn how to carry out diagnostic procedures and undertake appropriate repairs as well as identifying and applying safe work practices in the light automotive industry.  You will need to be employed and registered as an apprentice/trainee before you can undertake this course. This course may also be available through Recognition of Prior Learning to eligible applicants. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of light vehicles in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

  • You are seeking hands-on trades career servicing and fixing all things light automotive.
  • You want to gain qualifications as a Motor Mechanic, Automotive Light Mechanic or Roadside Mechanic.

When you complete this course, you will have skills and knowledge in light automotive servicing technologies, including engines, suspension and steering systems. You will learn how to carry out diagnostic procedures and undertake appropriate repairs as well as identify and apply safe work practices in the Light Automotive Industry. 

Time Commitment  You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on campus as outlined in your training plan; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research, and complete assessment requirements.
