To enter a building site in Australia it is a requirement to hold a current General Induction card, also known as a 'White Card' (formerly Blue Card). The card is valid for use on all construction sites in Australia.
This training reinforces the Work Health and Safety roles and responsibilities of employees and employers aimed at raising the safety standards in the construction industry.
The course covers:
Work Health and Safety legislation in the workplace
Communication and consultation on Work Health and Safety
Implementing Work Health and Safety risk management & the principles of safe systems
Emergencies & first aid in the workplace
Key principles relating to workplace injury management
On successful completion of this course, students will be issued a WorkSafe WA registered White Card and receive a statement of attainment for the following nationally accredited unit.

- You want to work in the Construction Industry or enter a construction site.

To make an informed choice about the suitability of this course, please consider the essential skills and knowledge below. You must:
- Be able to listen and communicate well with others.
- Show the ability to follow instructions and regulations.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow Work Health and Safety procedures and respond to immediate safety risks.
You need to hold a current WorkSafe WA registered White Card prior to entering a construction site. This White Card (formerly Blue Card) is a general safety induction card. This training reinforces the Work Health and Safety (WHS) roles and responsibilities of employers and employees aimed at raising the safety standards in the construction industry.
Time Commitment – You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.
