Telescopic material handler operations is fast becoming a sought after skill set in the mining and construction sector. Whether it's lifting with forks, digging with a bucket or using any number of attachments available on these machines.
The course provides training on:
- telehandler operation, including planning and preparing for operations
- conducting pre-start checks
- operating the telehandler
- lifting, carrying and placing materials
- basic maintenance and clean-up procedures
- This course is perfect if you need to be certified to operate telehandlers with a lifting capacity of 3 tonnes or less.
To make an informed choice about the suitability of this course, please consider the essential skills and knowledge below. You must:
- Have an interest in operating machinery.
- Display ability to write documents legibly.
- Demonstrate well-developed communication.
- Demonstrate well spoken English.
- Have a sound level of fitness to manage physical demands in the workplace, such as safely climbing ladders, handle tools, perform manual handling and move within confined, elevated or awkward spaces.
- Show ability to follow instructions and follow Work Health and Safety procedures.

Time Commitment – You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.
