This short course covers the process for safely checking, loading, starting and operating a side-by-side utility vehicle. Participants will learn to steer, manoeuvre, position and stop the vehicle in a smooth and controlled manner.

The course covers

  • Routine checks and maintenance procedures
  • Hazards and risks associated with side-by-side utility vehicle areas of operation
  • Loading and securing side by side utility vehicle safely
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) associated with the safe operation and use of a side-by-side utility vehicle
  • You want to gain the skills to safely operate a side-by-side utility vehicle.

  • Have an interest in operating machinery and basic mechanical understanding.
  • Demonstrate sound English reading and writing skills.

  • Display good hand-eye coordination for precise control of the vehicle’s movements.
  • Have sound level of fitness to perform practical assessments.
  • Have spatial awareness to navigate tight spaces and avoid obstacles.

  • Show ability to follow instructions and follow Work Health and Safety procedures.

This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to safely operate a side-by-side utility vehicle. This course covers the process for safely checking, loading, starting and operating a side-by-side utility vehicle. You will learn to steer, manoeuvre, position and stop the vehicle in a smooth and controlled manner.

Time Commitment  You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.
