This skill set aims to provide students with the confidence and skills required to choose a pathway towards further education or employment. Personal, social and employability skills will be developed while working in an outdoor hands-on work environment. The practical nature of the course helps to engage the students while improving their ability to communicate and participate in a team project. The skills learnt will be transferrable to different employment and study areas.
Educational outcomes for learners who complete the Room to Grow Skill Set include the development of communication strategies, personal development strategies, confidence to seek further employment or educational opportunities and Community participation/group project.
Student can expect to be in the nursery/garden doing propagation/planting hands on most days.
On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the following nationally accredited units:
