This skill set has been designed for individuals who wish to meet competency requirements for a broad range of digital literacy skills including the use of basic computing, web searching and basic applications software. This skill set will cover the following:
- Operate presentation packages;
- Use, communicate and search securely on the internet;
- Operate a personal computer;
- Operate spreadsheet applications; and
- Operate word-processing application.
- You would like to develop basic skills and knowledge in digital technology, from using the computer to the Internet and digital devices.
Then this is the course for you.
To make an informed choice about the suitability of this course, please consider the essential skills and knowledge below. You must:
- Have a desire to learn about digital technologies
- Have a willingness to listen to and apply instructions
- Demonstrate ability to work with digital technologies safely and within health guidelines
- Like to work indoors in front of screens and digital devices
This course gives you the basic skills and knowledge to learn word processing and web searching, using a personal computer and other digital devices.
Time Commitment
You will need to allocate sufficient time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-campus and/or online as outlined in the study mode. You will also need to undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, skills practise and completing assessment requirements.
