Study Mode Traineeship

Gain the skills and knowledge to effectively provide support in sport and recreation programs. During this course you will develop basic functional knowledge and skills for work in customer contact positions in the sport or community recreation industry. These individuals are competent in a range of administrative activities and functions within a team and under supervision.

  • Have an interest in the Sport and Recreation Industry.
  • Enjoy working one-on-one as well as part of a team.
  • Have a good level of fitness and enjoy participating in sport.

  • Have good time-management and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Possess well-developed communication, verbal, non-verbal and listening skills.
  • Apply problem-solving skills.
  • Possess the ability to follow instructions, Work Health and Safety procedures and the ability to respond to immediate safety risks.

When you complete this course, you will know how to assist with sport and recreation activities while handling routine tasks under supervision. You will gain hands-on experience in customer service, equipment management, and facility maintenance. 

This qualification creates pathways to work in a variety of settings including community sports centres, aquatic facilities, and other recreation organisations. You may find work with commercial businesses, not-for-profits, community programs, or government-run facilities.

Time Commitment: You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research, complete assessment requirements and the traineeship work placement.
