Focused on Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG Welding) and the operation of Electric Welding Machines, this course provides practical, real-world experience to get you comfortable with key welding techniques. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refresh your skills, you'll gain hands-on knowledge in setting up, welding, and finishing projects with industry-standard equipment.

  • Enjoy practical work.

  • Have good stamina as welding often involves standing for long periods.
  • Be able to follow instructions.
  • Demonstrate your ability to follow Work Health and Safety procedures and respond to immediate safety risks.
  • Show your ability to read different welding wires and numbers.
  • Be able to identify hazards involved with welding processes.

This course provides the basic skills and knowledge of Metal Inert Gas Welding (MIG Welding) and Electric (Arc) Welding Machines. It provides practical, real-world experience to get you comfortable with key welding techniques. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refresh your skills, you'll gain hands-on knowledge in setting up, welding, and finishing projects with industry-standard equipment.

Time Commitment  You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.
