South Regional TAFE Student of the Year

This prestigious award honors outstanding achievements at the highest level. This year, we are proudly recognising two outstanding individuals.

Lewis Italiano

Lewis’ hard work, dedication, and exceptional skill have placed him among the best in his field. A natural leader both in his TAFE class and his WorldSkills Team, he thrives in collaborative environments, ensuring projects reach their highest potential. His talent was showcased on the world stage when he represented Australia at the WorldSkills International competition in Lyon, France, securing an impressive 9th place ranking globally.

His achievements extend beyond this, having earned a National Gold Medal in Melbourne in 2023 and being selected to participate in the prestigious World Wood Day event in Japan in March 2025. His willingness to learn, grow, and support those around him makes him a valued member of his class, always ready to assist peers and share his expertise.

Lewis continues to exceed expectations, and his accomplishments serve as a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence. He should take great pride in all that he has achieved.

Felicity Jones

Felicity’s determination, adaptability, and passion for creativity have shaped her remarkable journey. Transitioning from a strong background in maths and science to the world of graphic design, she embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, earning her Certificate III and IV before advancing to a diploma at South Regional TAFE.

Her willingness to push boundaries and take on new experiences led her to the Re:act For Change program in 2024, where she applied her skills to a fresh and meaningful project. Beyond her own growth, Felicity consistently supported her peers, offering insightful feedback and encouragement, making her a valued member of her class.

A defining moment in her journey was her move to New South Wales, where she established her own thriving graphic design business, Frankie Ave Co. Now working successfully as a freelance designer, she continues to make a lasting impact through her creativity and dedication to her craft.
