New site identified for additional Collie training facility

Estimated reading time: 1 minute

A new site for our $7.8 million South Regional TAFE additional training facility has been identified, with site acquisition underway to expand local training options in Collie.

Located in the heart of Collie's light industrial area, the new site will provide closer linkages with local industry and employers, and is situated near other training facilities including the DFES Koolinup Emergency Services Centre.

The facility, which will be in addition to the existing South Regional TAFE Collie Campus, is part of the State Government's broader $662 million commitment to support the town's transition from coal-powered energy generation.

After initial site investigations found the original location unsuitable, an alternative site has been secured that better meets local training needs.

Key details of the project:

  • Total investment: $7.8 million
  • Anticipated completion: Mid-2026
  • Location: Collie's light industrial area
  • Long-term asset for Collie community

Planning and design work are already underway to minimise project delays. Interim training opportunities are being established to support local workers during the facility's development.

Our dedicated Collie Jobs and Skills Centre at 56 Forrest Street is also open, providing free careers, training, and employment support to local workers, their families and wider community.
