The Cyber Security Skillset is an introductory course which allows students to develop basic skills and knowledge to support the protection of personal and workplace information from online threats.

Students will be able to access Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) training to obtain internationally recognised Cybersecurity Certification.

Students will gain an understanding of Privacy Laws in the context of Cyber Security allowing them to manage personal profiles and identifiable information safely.

This course also serves as a pathway for students who wish to pursue further qualifications in Business Technology or Information Communications Technology, such as Certificate III in Information Technology.

This course will suit:

  • Small business owners and professional employees who wish to gain skills and knowledge in cyber security to apply in their existing workplace and for personal application.
  • Adults & school leavers with pathway interests in the ICT industry or who require cyber security skills for personal application.
  • You want to keep your personal and professional digital assets secure.
  • You want to start your Information and Communications Technology (ICT) career pathway in cyber security.

This course provides the basic skills and knowledge to support the protection of personal and workplace information from online threats. You will gain an understanding of Privacy Laws in the context of Cyber Security allowing you to manage personal profiles and identifiable information safely.

This course also serves as a pathway if you wish to pursue further qualifications in Business Technology or ICT, such as Certificate III in Information Technology.

Time Commitment  You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.
