This course is part of the Lower fees, local skills initiative. From 1 January 2020 through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the course fees, capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession, plus resource fees and other fees that may apply to your course.

Study Mode Apprenticeship

This qualification will prepare you with the skills and knowledge to work in and provide a trade outcome in wall and ceiling. You will learn skills required to fix standard plasterboard sheets to walls and ceilings, fixing battens and mixing plastering compounds. You will also learn how to work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry, plan and organise work, carry out measurements and calculations and apply Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work in the wall and ceiling lining industry. You will learn how to fix plasterboard sheets to walls and ceilings, mix plastering compounds, install suspended ceilings, construct bulkheads, interpret plans and apply Work Health and Safety requirements.

Time Commitment â€“ You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research, and complete assessment requirements.
