Trails are an important inclusion within the WA tourism industry. This skill set will upskill learners so they can take bush walks safely while conserving the local environment.

Study Mode On Campus

Each week classroom delivery is followed by undertaking a bushwalk. Students learn to bushwalk safely and environmentally soundly in the natural environment on marked trails. Students learn about specific equipment, suitable clothing and footwear, waterproof gear, safe manual handling techniques, obstacles, steps, slopes, maintinaing pace, negotiating hazards, handling emergencies, managing participants, communication protocols, using maps and guides, looking after the natural enviroment, not impacting cultural and heritage sites, permits and permissions.
