Ready to bring your musical ideas to life? This five-week online course is all about helping you create and mix your own demos with confidence. Whether you’ve got a full studio or just a laptop and a phone, we’ll show you how to turn your melodies and beats into polished tracks. By the end, you’ll have the skills and some industry tricks to produce music that sounds great -straight from the gear you already own.

In this course you will learn the knowledge and skills to:
- Work with accessible software like BandLab and learn core principles that apply to any music production platform.
- Get hands-on with creating and mixing in a structured and supportive learning environment.
- Use Your Own Gear: We'll teach you how to get professional-sounding results with the software and hardware you already own.
- Weekly Interactive Lectures: Connect with your instructor and classmates in real-time, ask questions, and get personalized feedback.
Book online one-on-one meetings with the instructor, or if you’re local you can book face to face times and come and use the TAFE music gear.
Do you want to learn how to:
- Safely setup music studio equipment for recording
- Prepare and record music demos in consultation with relevant personnel
- Create a headphone mix for performers
- Contribute to the development of an appropriate recording plan
- Work with others to agree on a method of and format for final recording
- Record, mix and finalise at least two basic music demos
- Capture sound sources according to agreed recording method.
- Collaborate with others to prepare basic recording plans and achieve positive results.

- Be able to follow instructions and follow Work Health and Safety procedures.
Time Commitment:
You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending live online classes Thursday 9:30am-11:30am. (which are recorded), as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study commitments outside of class hours, including private study, preparation and practice, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.
