Over two full days of training, participants will learn to apply correct load restraint techniques, complete documentation, and follow safety protocols aligned with the National Transport Commission’s Load Restraint Guide and relevant legislation.

In this course you will learn the knowledge and skills to:
- Load and unload goods or cargo safely using correct procedures and mechanical aids.
- Secure and protect loads in compliance with the National Transport Commission’s Load Restraint Guide and relevant state legislation.
- Apply hazard controls and use PPE to maintain a safe working environment.
- Complete required documentation accurately for cargo handling and transport.
- Interpret and follow workplace policies, procedures, and safety signage during loading and unloading tasks.
- Calculate load weights and apply restraint techniques to prevent movement during transit.

Time Commitment – You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes onsite for two full days of face-to-face training (7.5 hours each day); and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including pre-reading of learning materials to prepare for practical sessions, reviewing cargo handling procedures and safety protocols, studying relevant legislation and codes of practice, preparing for assessments.
