This course remains FEE FREE in 2025! The course fees are 100 per cent subsidised by the WA State Government for WA residents.

This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to operate a forklift truck safely.
Participants will learn how to operate a forklift truck by planning the work, conducting routine checks on a forklift truck, shifting loads in a safe manner and safely shut down and secure equipment after completing operations.
Industry licensing information: this course may allow students with the correct qualifications to apply for the National High Risk Licence class LF. Students must apply and pay for this licence separately with WorkSafe.
On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the following nationally accredited unit:

- Have an interest in operating machinery and basic mechanical understanding.
- Show sound English reading and writing skills.

- Show spatial awareness to navigate tight spaces and handling loads with precision.

- Show ability to follow instructions and follow Work Health and Safety procedures.
This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to safely operate forklift.
The work described in this course relates to the National Standards for licensing persons performing high risk work. On successful completion of this course, you will be able to apply for a High-risk licence through WorkSafe. You must apply and pay for this licence separately.
Time Commitment – You will need to allocate appropriate time to complete this course. This includes attending classes on-site and/or online as outlined in the study mode; and undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, assessment preparation, research and complete assessment requirements.

- Implement risk control measures.
- Carry out traffic management in accordance with workplace procedures.
