This course will provide you with a broad range of specialised media and photography skills and knowledge to develop practical skills and evaluate information from screen and media sources. On completion of this course, you can expect to have developed skills in photography and video, lighting fundamentals, pre-production and planning, video editing, and post-production, which will be applicable to a range of contexts.

You may have a qualification or industry experience – but you don’t need to – to launch into the Certificate IV in Screen and Media

The Certificate IV in Screen and Media provides training in working safely and effectively in the creative arts industry on media productions that require teamwork and collaboration. You will apply photographic skills, both digital and analogue, and work with vision and audio to create video projects that include animation and a range of sources. Writing, editing and presenting sound and images for a variety of audiences and purposes includes developing storyboards, creating 2D animations and visual effects

Time Commitment – You will need to allocate sufficient time to complete the course. This includes attending classes on-campus and accessing learning materials online. You will also need to undertake independent study outside of class hours, including private study, practising skills, visual enquiry and completing assessment requirements.

Cert IV in Screen and Media is offered over two days a week on campus at Margaret River. The course may be completed in two semesters (Feb-June, July-Dec) or at your own pace part-time.
