When you complete this Certificate II in Building and Construction pre-apprenticeship, you'll be what employers are looking for as an apprentice bricklayer/blocklayer.
- constructing and repairing walls, arches, foundations, and partitions
- interpreting plans
- measuring
- calculating the right amount of materials for the job
- working with scaffolding safely at heights and
- workplace health and safety
You will need to complete:
- 150 hours of mandatory supervised work placement, in a suitable environment, that provides the services in this selected area of study. South Regional TAFE will assist in arranging this suitable work placement within the industry for you.
- Attendance at the work placement regularly and reliably.
- Travel to and from the suitable work environment to complete work placement.
- Work placement times may be outside of standard South Regional TAFE student hours and can vary between placement sites.
